Tune In To Spirit

Date November 3, 2011

Have you recently made the time to take a break and commune with Spirit? It seems that these days with all the worries of the economy, the world and our community we just do not have time to do something as frivolous as stop for some quiet reflection and meditation. However I say that it is times like this when it becomes vitally important to do just that.

Right now we are bombarded on a daily and even hourly basis with news of the economy, the rage of protest, unemployment and war. Our immersion in the pursuit of the material world expends so much of our energy these days. It is our pursuit of the materialistic that leads to virtually all the problems that surface in our lives.

These days especially we need to set our dial to listen to Spirit. You can not tune your radio to an FM station if you are on the AM dial. The FM signals are out there for you to listen to, but since you are not on the right dial, you cannot hear them. It is the same way with Spirit, if your mind is focused elsewhere you will not hear the conversation going on.

It would be easier if we could just slap on a pair of head phones or ear buds from our ipods straight to the soul so we can hear the message. But unfortunately it doesn’t work quite that way.We have to put forth a little effort I’m afraid.

You need to turn off the outside world to get in tune with your inner spiritual self. When the world is still and all is peaceful, you will discover a wonderful conversation in your mind that goes on all the time with your spiritual self and the rest of your mind.

Yes it can be difficult at times to create time for those few extra minutes to get in tune with your spirit. However we make time every day for far less important things. It is time to make that time for something so vitally important.

Take a moment, right now. Just close your eyes for a moment and take two slow deep breaths. Visualize a nice cool morning. What do you see? What do you hear? How does this make you feel? Are you at peace?

Just visualizing this gave you some peace and relieve some stress you may have had. This is something you can easily do in a few spare moments when you are waiting somewhere. This is one of many exercises that can produce great results.

Law of Attraction Success - You HAVE TO Take Action

Date December 5, 2010

By Bryan Appleton

One of the most popular myths about the law of attraction is that there are ways to manifest things without taking any kind of actions whatsoever. Now, if this doesn’t ring your alarm or make you the least bit skeptical, then you may want to re-evaluate things a little bit. One of the most basic laws that govern our world is that you have to take an action to produce a result.

If you are not willing to take action, then do not expect results. I want to share with you a simple little story that illustrates this fact a little further.

In the very first chapter of Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill, Mr. Hill tells the story of a Mr. Barnes whose dream is to be in business with Thomas Edison. To summarize, he hops (action) on a train and travel to Mr. Edison’s laboratory. He meets with the inventor and tries to talk his way into business with the great inventor. It doesn’t work. But, he does get a job working for him.

He works for him for five years, keeping in his mind that one day, he will be a business partner of Mr. Edison’s. Five years later, Edison invents a product that none of his salesmen believe they can really sell to the public. Mr. Barnes speaks up and says that he will sell the product. He does. To the tune of millions of dollars.

He achieves his dream. Mr. Hill tells us that the secret lies in that very story. Now, I only highlighted one action, but even in that brief summary I am sure that you can point out many others.

If you have a dream and you want to make it your reality, Take Action. Don’t believe me? Read that story with a highlighter and highlight every single action that Mr. Barnes took.

Law-of-Attraction Article: Wake Up and Create Something

Date December 3, 2010

By Boy Doyle

It’s time for the “mainstream” to WAKE UP. The alarm clock is ringing, they keep hitting snooze, and in the meantime, the life they could be living is passing them by.

Day after day, millions of people go through their lives wishing and hoping and dreaming that things could be better, with absolutely no knowledge that it is they themselves that perpetuate their own dissatisfaction.

It is not the “gifted few” who create their realities. It’s not just for those in the metaphysical community. It is all of us. Every single one. However, there are a few who have awakened to this knowledge, and make creating their reality a daily event…manifesting whatever it is they want in their life with seemingly no effort!

Meanwhile the rest of the world looks on in wonder and disbelief. They assume that these “fortunate few” are among the cosmically lucky.

To be honest, the whole thing generates some anger in me. The problem is that we are “dumbed down” by society throughout our whole lives under the pretense that we are actually being intellectualized. The “scholarly” tell us that metaphysical topics like reality creation are pure fantasy. Science insists on measurable evidence of everything before it will acknowledge such claims as fact.

However, it’s really not that difficult to comprehend. Even the most skeptical people should be able to grasp a few simple concepts like:

  • Everything in the Universe is composed of Energy, including you and me. Even our thoughts are Energy.
  • Through Energy, everything in the Universe is connected.
  • The Universe creates without effort, and in abundance. Just look around you. Trees, rocks, air, planets, etc. all were created without stress, effort, or over-analyzation. The Force you choose to believe initiated the creative process doesn’t matter. They are all there and were created effortlessly.
  • You ARE a part of the Universe and through the power of thought, have the same creative power that manifests everything you see. The only thing that limits your potential is your own belief system!

Everything that occurs in your life is interpreted BY YOU. You add the meaning, you add the emotional response, you add EVERYTHING. It is your thoughts that literally take the energy “data” and transpose it into your reality. What you consider “real” is nothing more than an agreement that you’ve made with yourself (and no doubt many others in some cases).

This is how our reality has been shaped. This is how we have learned what is possible, and what is impossible. We learned it from OTHER PEOPLE. The problem is, these other people (family and friends perhaps?) have their OWN limiting belief systems which they ALSO consider “real”.

So human limitations spread like a virus, and we don’t even realize what’s happening.

As discouraging as this is, many of us ARE waking up. I personally feel it my sacred duty to shake people out of this “intellectual trance” that limits them and show them what is truly possible.

So what IS the difference between those who cruise through life in a seemingly perpetual state of bliss, with everything they want coming to them with no effort, and the rest of the population working at jobs they hate for the sake of doing the “responsible” thing, hoping that SOME DAY they can live the lives they hope for?

The difference is that these people know their purpose, know WHY they absolutely HAVE to fulfill that purpose, and commit themselves to never stopping until they realize their dream. They may or may not have thrown the accepted definition of “responsibility” out the window. The only thing that matters ultimately is that they now live lives they love, following their passions.

You see it is our PASSIONS in life that tell us precisely what we are to do. When we follow our passions, our life lights up. We give off incredibly powerful energy which attracts our desires to us. That means people, money, objects, careers…whatever we want that is in line with our purpose. The Universe WANTS to provide those things we want most. It is only our own limiting belief systems that stop fulfillment from occurring.

Does Success Change You?

Date December 3, 2010

Author: Michael J. Beck

Imagine this scenario… You spend years working hard to succeed. During these years, you have some success, mixed with lots of false starts. But you never really reach the level of success you dream of. And then something shifts. Everything begins to work, and your fame and fortune take off.

Here’s the question: Does success change you? Does becoming successful cause you to think and act in a different way? Understanding the answer the answer to this question has significant implications for your future.

The answer is “yes” and “no”. We need to examine success’ effect on us at both a professional and a personal level. Professionally, success definitely changes us. It causes us to think and act differently. It causes us to become more creative, seeing opportunities where we never saw them before. It causes us to collaborate more effectively, leveraging our efforts like never before.

Success causes us to dream even bigger, setting goals we never would have considered possible before. This shift in thinking causes us to take actions we never thought we would. We manifest the courage to move out of our comfort zone and strike out in directions that, up until then, intimidated us. Each of these shifts acts to propel our success to ever greater levels.

But the story is different on a personal level. Many people have fears and beliefs around success and its impact on us. Some people have a belief that success makes people superficial. Others believe that success makes people materialistic. Some have a fear that success brings with it overwhelm and overload. That out life will no longer be our own. They fear that success will cause them to lose the lifestyle to which they’ve become accustomed.

Of course, there are many other fears and issues some people have about success. But for purposes of this article, we’re only considering those regarding beliefs and fears as they relate to success and how it may change us.

Having noted the various fears and beliefs people sometimes have around success, let me share what I know to be true about success and its impact on us. I’ve been very successful in my life and at others times, I’ve been bankrupt. I’ve experienced both ends of the spectrum. Here’s what I’ve learned…

Success doesn’t change you. It simply magnifies who you are.

If you’re a generous person when you’re only modestly successful, then success makes you even more generous. If you’re a selfish person before success, then success makes you even more selfish. If your nature is to be a caring, giving person, then success makes you more so. Success doesn’t change you as a person - it magnifies you.

If your nature is to be materialistic, you become more materialistic. If you are a competitive person, you become even more competitive. If you like helping others, you end up looking for ways to help even more people.

The bottom line is that success simply amplifies or magnifies who we are. It’s important to understand this, so that we don’t allow our fears about success or our false beliefs about success to hold us back from becoming all that we can become. You never want your fears and beliefs to hold you back from fully realizing everything you can achieve.

I’ve written before about the limiting effects of having conflicting intentions or beliefs, so I won’t expand on them here. But essentially, if you have an intention or belief that is in conflict with what you’re attempting to accomplish, it counters all your efforts. The consequent results are mediocre.

Only you know whether you harbor any conflicting beliefs or intentions. It may take some reflection and introspection to bring these conflicting intentions to the surface. But unless you do, you’ll always be mired in mediocrity.

Help yourself achieve the success you want. Spend some time identifying and releasing beliefs and intentions which conflict with your goals. And appreciate the fact that success won’t change the kind of person you are - it simply amplifies your qualities. Once you embrace these two concepts, you’ll be able to achieve whatever level of success you dream of.

What It Means to Be Happy

Date November 26, 2010

Happiness is a mood, state of mind or feeling that most people describe as contentment, joy, love, satisfaction, elation or positivity. There has been a lot of research and study of just what happiness is and where it comes from.

Philosophers that have studied happiness will say that happiness comes from living a good life. This is going to depend on your definition of a good life, as many people live a life filled with things and money and are never happy. There is no doubt that you can have all the money in the world and not be the least bit happy.

Happiness is a rather vague word. I think we should rather use the term “well being” to describe this state of mind. The Buddhist define well being as a deep sense of serenity and fulfillment. A state of mind that pervades and underlies all emotional state of the joys and sorrows that can come your way.

Our minds are always seeking to find happiness, however the mind does not always know how to go about that. It’s habit is to run back to something that worked before. This almost always does not work. If at some time you got great joy from a little bit of chocolate, your mind mind decides this is good and runs back to it. However by the 5th pound you are burnt out on it and do not want any more, gaining no joy from it.

Happiness can be had by exercising a few habits of happy people. It is about the way you look at every event in your life and the events around you.

Anger, jealousy, rage, sadness, obsessive desire and focus on negative events never leave us in a state of well being. Continued recycling of these emotions just cause us to drift further and further away from a state of well being. On the opposite end are those fleeting moments of joy and ecstasy that never last long.

True happiness can not be found in those fleeting moments of joy, rather only by training your mind to have those underlying habits which keep us in the proper state of mind at all times. Happiness is a deep state of mind that flourishes in every moment of life, despite whatever is going on around us.

Training your mind for true deep happiness takes a bit of work, however everything in life requires a bit of work.

Matthieu Ricard, a Cellular Biologist and Buddhist Monk has often been called the Happiest Man Alive, has written an excellent book on training you mind for the Habits of Happiness.

Happiness: A Guide to Developing Life’s Most Important Skill

The Secret and Weight Loss

Date October 25, 2009

The movie “The Secret” has been out for a couple of years now and people still struggle to apply the principles of “The Law Of Attraction” in their life. The unfortunate thing about the movie is that it is very skewed toward Money. The producers of the movie felt that the US market would be more attracted to the movie if it was.

The fact is that it can be used to all aspects of your life. It is especially true of Weight Loss.

The Basics of The Law Of Attraction

The basics of The Law Of Attraction work very well for weight loss. The basics are to make the decision fully in your mind and then visualizing yourself at your goal weight. Weight loss experts will tell you that to be successful you need to keep positive thoughts in your mind.

It is important to visualize yourself at your ideal weight and feel how you will feel when you get there. Truly experience the positive feelings you will derive from knowing that you have succeeded.

It is very important to see yourself as if it has already happened. So many people have a hard time with this concept because they question it, but many others have used it and it works.

Once you have visualized yourself at your ideal weight, you can let go of any worry and concern you have about it and just let it happen. It will unfold before you as if it was a miracle, just as the movie tells us.

Applying The Law Of Attraction to Weight Loss

It is important that you utilize the techniques above to create those positive feelings and determination within your mind. There are many other things you can do once you have created that commitment in your mind to further advance your desire and progress.

You can begin planning the things you will do when you reach or ideal weight. You can also go shopping and find the kinds of cloths you want to wear when you get there.

As you continue to visualize and experience the positive feeling you might find that certain foods just do not appeal to you any longer, or that you eat smaller portions. You might also notice that you begin to make healthier choices all around. Just keep visualizing yourself at your ideal weight.

We work with a lot of people in our Vernal Office on weight loss and and the principles of The Law Of Attraction. We offer clients a free initial consultation.

Using the Law of Attraction to Change Your Life Forever

Date October 16, 2009

It has been a few years since The Secret and all the other popular Law of Attraction awareness came out. A lot of people have tried to use the Law of Attraction in their everyday life to make big changes, but never really see any result. All the while they see other people who are able to manifest anything they desire in a matter of days!

I wanted to share with you some of the common mistakes most people make that keeps them from ever realizing the results that the Law of Attraction can bring them.

Giving it a Try

The word Try itself implies failure. If I tried to open the door, can you tell what occurred? In the words of the immortal Yoda from Star Wars: “Try not. Do or Do not. There is no try!”

Do not try the Law of Attraction, commit to it and you will be surprised as to the results that you get from it.

Giving Up Too Soon

Most people go a few weeks or months without seeing any significant results of what they want and give up all hope. 99% of the time, people give up right before they achieve their goal. This is true in Life and business.

The hardest concept for most people is having faith that the universe is working, if you allow yourself to doubt that, nothing will work for you.

Putting Limits On Yourself

There really are no limits to what you can do! However far too many people doubt their ability to have what they want. You need to remove all that doubt, get it right out of your head. You can have and do exactly what you want.

"The tragedy in life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach." –Benjamin Mays

"By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands — your own." –Mark Victor Hansen

Dream big, very big! Nothing is out of reach and nothing is too much. Setting a limit on yourself will only hold you back.

Now go forth and Manifest, I know you can.

Do you have a Vision Board?

Date September 12, 2009

Less than 1 year after we put a picture of a house in mountains on our Vision Board, a wonderful house in the Mountains came to us in a way the we could not avoid moving into our dream home.

“Wow!  A fun, easy, and powerful tool for instantly creating your own unforgettable super-charged and truly hypnotic visualization board! I love it!”  ~ Joe Vitale, author of The Attractor Factor

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”  ~ Jim Rohn

A vision Board is an important part of utilizing the Law of Attraction. It should be a eye level and located in a place where you can regularly see it throughout the day without having to go out of your way.

Will ADD Save the World?

Date September 4, 2009

I just ran across an interview in 4 parts done by Dr Thom Hartmann with Dr Richard Silberstein. Both are Neuroscientist that study ADD and ADHD. Dr Hartmann now mostly does talk radio and writes some very good books on ADD/ADHD, one of the best being Healing ADD : Simple Exercises That Will Change Your Daily Life

In this interview they posit the thought that since Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison were classic ADHD individuals, had they been on  Ritalin we would not have a United States or the electric light bulb. This is due to the way that Ritalin affects the brain, while it may help attention in a few situation it stops the ability to bring together complex relationships as ideas.

During the interview they bring forward something that is just emerging, that fish oils have been found to be more effective than Ritalin without the side effects of destroying the personality and reasoning. A study in Australia  found 40-50 percent improvement in behavior over a control group in teenage kids.
